Your Style is NOT Your Superpower

This might come as a surprise given that I have worked in the fashion industry for decades BUT…I don’t believe in the idea that STYLE is a superpower.

This sentiment suggests that style is the linchpin to owning the room, commanding respect and architecting success. If your goal is to "WOW" them, and your personal style is part of your strategy, then by all means, go get 'em, Queen! 

BUT... if the goal is earning the approval of (or validation from) other people, then you are giving your power away, and all you’re left with after the event is a big ole pile of imposter syndrome.

You are far more magnetic when you are rooted in divine alignment and operating from a place of autonomy and unconditional worthiness.

Fashion can absolutely lever your confidence and be used as a vehicle of self-expression and celebration, and while I appreciate the ‘ style as superpower’ sentiment at face value, I believe that:

YOUR CREATIVITY

YOUR BRAVERY

YOUR INTUITION

YOUR AUTHENTICITY ABOVE ALL, no matter the cost…

Those qualities are the superpowers. Style is just the icing on the cake. So let’s give ourselves a little more credit and trust that our power lies within. After all, Dorothy’s ruby slippers were just really great shoes.
